Michael "Bad Weather" Lachney, Sr. was born on October 7, 1950, and passed away on, April 17, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lachney; children, Michael Lachney, Jr. and Melanie Lachney Hernandez and husband, Alex; grandchildren, Jade, Xena, Hunter, and Tripp; sister, Stephanie Manuel and husband, Damian; godchild, Brooke Manuel; special friend, Betty Doyle.

Preceded in death by his parents, Lester Lachney and Wilma Jean Fruge; grandparents, Dempsey "Paa Paa" Fruge, Sr. and Hattie "Maa Maa" Fruge.

Family will receive friends from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary being held at 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, in the Reed Chapel at Reed-Riley Smith & Son's Funeral Home, 315 N. 14th Street, Kinder, Louisiana. Visitation will continue from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2023. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m., in the Reed Chapel at Reed-Riley Smith & Son's Funeral Home, 315 N. 14th Street, Kinder, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery, Elton, Louisiana.
