Yanita A. Rice was born October 27, 1958, and passed away June 21, 2026, at the age of 67.

Yanita was a loving and caring woman who cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed sitting outside, sharing conversations, laughter, and fellowship with those she loved most.

One of Yanita's favorite pastimes was visiting the beach, where she found peace and happiness in the beauty of the ocean. She also enjoyed eating seafood and listening to zydeco music, which brought her tremendous joy.

Yanita retired from Vinton Elementary School, where she worked as a Special Education Teacher Aide. She truly enjoyed her work and found great fulfillment in helping and supporting the students in her care. Her dedication, patience, and compassion made a positive impact on the lives of many children and their families.

Above all, Yanita loved her family deeply. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion to those closest to her will always be remembered and treasured. She leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, service, and precious memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Joshua Willis and Cory Mornic and wife Destiny; partner, Tommy Cormier; siblings, Earline Reid and Lydia Leger and husband LeRoi; and her dog that was also her favorite child, Diva; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rice; parents, Henry and Esma Stanley; and brothers, Floyd Stanley and Raymond Stanley.

Cremation was entrusted to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana.
