William Chad Rester, born July 29th, 1979, passed away April 15th, 2026, at the age of 46.
Chad was a devoted follower of Christ who cherished his sons and lived his life for them. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed fishing and being outdoors, and found happiness in training dogs. Outgoing and friendly, Chad never met a stranger and was highly skilled and passionate about his work as a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by his mother, Melinda Fontenot Guillory; his two sons, Brodie and Huck Rester; his brother, Brendan Rester and wife Monique; his niece, Jordyn Williams; his nephew, Caleb Rester; his great-niece, Arya Williams; and many family members and friends.
Chad is preceded in passing by his father, William Mitchel Rester; his paternal grandparents, William Fred and Ruby Rester; and his maternal grandparents, George and Helen Fontenot.
His love for family, passion for the outdoors, and kind spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Chad will be deeply missed by his loved ones, and his memory will live on forever.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 21st, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for a time of visitation and will resume Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home 315 N 14th St Kinder, Louisiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will at take place Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St Philip Neri Catholic Church Kinder, Louisiana. Father Alan will be officiating. Internment will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery Dry Creek, Louisiana.
