Obituary

Warren Gene "Genie Boy" Williams was born on October 12, 1948, and passed away on April 14, 2025, at the age of 76.

Our dad, Warren, was our hero. He wasn't a hero because of big accomplishments or grand titles- he was a hero because of how he lived his life every single day. Dad taught us the value of hard work, but also the importance of our faith. He believed in us, even when we doubted ourselves. His unwavering support and quiet strength carried us through many of life's trials. He wasn't just our dad- he was a mentor, a guide, and a source of inspiration. He lived with integrity, always doing what was right, even when no one was watching. His belief in honesty, kindness and perseverance shaped who we are today. My dad was always busy- a man in constant motion. He had a love for the great outdoors by fishing and going crabbing. He loved to cook gumbo, smothered okra and fried fish on a weekly basis. On Sundays after church, you could catch him watching the New Orleans's saints football games along with his casino runs. He loved to laugh; He had and enormous capacity to give of himself. He was a father/ grandfather figure in the lives of many people. Dad had a gentle heart and always gave out the best hugs. His quiet love was the backbone of our family. He made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. That was his gift. Every day of his 42 years of marriage, Dad taught us all what it means to be a great husband. He married his sweetheart, Angela, on June 15, 1974. He adored her and was dedicated to her totally. After mom died, Dad was strong and really kept us together. Today, we celebrate the love that Dad gave to us and everyone who knew him. We honor his legacy of kindness and the example he set for how to live a meaningful life. We will carry his memories with us and his gift of unconditional love for us all.

He is survived by his children, Kimberly Williams, Cindy Williams, and Carla Williams; grandson, Caiden Gene Williams; siblings, Willey "Boonie" Williams & wife, Katie, Elnora Williams Lewis & husband, Leon, John "Weems" Williams, Gloria Ann Williams, Larry Eugene Williams & wife, Versa, and LaDasha Williams, also a godchild; godchildren, Maggie Bushnell Williams & husband, Jason, and Brandon Fontenot.
