Thomas "Peewee" Rushing was born October 8, 1959, and passed away May 9, 2026, at the age of 66.

Peewee passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of hard work, love, and dedication to his family. He spent more than 50 years as a log truck driver and took great pride in his work. He enjoyed polishing his truck, talking on the CB radio, and spending time on the road.

His wife was the pride and joy of his life before her passing, and he carried his love for her always. He deeply loved his grandchildren and family and cherished every moment spent with them.

He was known for always keeping his yard spotless, rarely being seen without a Dr Pepper nearby, and enjoying evenings watching the Grit channel. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for family, and the simple joys that made him happiest.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Rushing; grandchildren, Gavyn Puryear, Adriana Puryear, and Nathaniel Glawson; sisters, Margaret Eddleman, Ima Stains and husband Curtis, Sadie Sigler and husband Allen, and Sandra Cardozier and husband Dale Sr.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Rushing; parents, Huey and Ruth Rushing; twin brother, Huey "Pinky" Rushing; brother-in-law, Arthur Eddleman; and nephew, Daniel "Fud" Rushing.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2026, and continuing from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Bro. Mike Streams will be officiating. Interment to follow at Miller Annex Cemetery, Starks, Louisiana.
