Thanh Ha "Thuy" Borden, 73, was born on June 22, 1953, in Can Tho, Vietnam to her father Van Loc Nguyen and mother Vo Thi Thoai. She was the oldest of nine children.
Thuy had a love for learning and enjoyed attending school, continuing her educational journey through two years of college.
In order to help her family, she began working on base as a nutritionist for the military during the Vietnam war, where she met and eventually married Sargent Joseph "Kenneth" Prudhome, of the United States Air Force. After completing his war duties, they were stationed in Alexandria, Louisiana, where she adjusted to her new life in a new country. Throughout the years, they traveled from base to base, as they continued to grow and raise their daughters. They spent most of their years in Little Rock, Arkansas and spent their free time enjoying the Ozarks by camping, fishing and spending time on the boat and water. They would also occasionally travel to Kinder during the summer months to visit their family.
Thuy remarried and moved to England and Washington State. Once retired, she returned to Little Rock to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the casino with friends and had a passion for cooking. At one point, she took her passion and partnered up to co-own a small restaurant for a few years. She made the worlds best eggrolls as they are still in demand amongst family and friends.
Eventually she relocated to Lafayette, Louisiana, where she resided with her youngest daughter Renee and her family and lived with them for the last 10 years. She enjoyed spending time with her new, extended family, many vacations, birthday parties that celebrated her, and being Renee's helpful assistant for countless events.
Thuy is preceded in death by her parents Van Loc Nguyen and Vo Thi Thoai, siblings, daughter Thanh "Loan" Sawyer and grandson, Michael Sawyer, Jr.
Forever cherishing her memories are her children, Thanh Thuy Nguyen and Dawn Renee Clark (Chris); three grandchildren, Duy Nguyen (Vy), Jennifer Nguyen, Tre'ven Prudhome and one great grandchild, Flynn Nguyen and a host of family and friends.
