Terry R.
Reeves
Jan 28, 1943 — Oct 25, 2024
Mittie - Terry R. Reeves was born on January 28, 1943, and passed away October 25, 2024, at the age of 81.
He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and friend to so many, including his brothers and sisters in Christ at Kinder Bible Church. Above all, Terry was so very proud to let the world know he was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Terry loved camping and fishing, talking about hunting, and he was a storyteller extraordinaire. He was loved by many, and it is safe to say that he probably never met a stranger.
He was committed to serving his family and community. Terry enjoyed a lengthy career in law enforcement, and though he loved his job, what he really enjoyed were people he encountered while he was working. His career spanned a total of 26 years in law enforcement, which included 11 years with the Allen Parish Sheriff Department and 15 years with the City of Oberlin Police Department, where he retired as the Assistant Chief of Police in 2009. Terry is a Navy veteran and worked as an airplane mechanic while in the Navy.
He is survived by his wife, of 37 years, Carol Reeves; children, Bobbie Arville & husband, Darren, Jason Reeves & Wife, Deanna, Russ Reeves & wife, Cassie, and Deanna Darby; step children, Ronald Patrick & wife, Megan, Deneen Patrick, and Chad Patrick & wife, Christy; grandchildren, Daniel, Kelsie, Clint, Hannah, Beau, Tristin, Rachel, Brit Allen, Oliver, Halen, and Aiden; Step grandchildren, Dustin, Kristi, Jordan, Lane, Holly, Raiden, Hunter, and Baylor; great grandchildren, Cole, Maddie, Jack, Jameson, Kolson, and Jamie; step great grandchildren, Ethan, Maddie, Trinity, Nicholas, Brenna, Carter, Kasper, and Grayson.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, Oliver & Doris Reeves; sister, Olivia DeMary.
