Sylvester Popillion, a quiet and dedicated man, passed away peacefully on, May 27, 2025, at the age of 66. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends who remember him for his unwavering work ethic and the quiet strength of his character.
Born on March 5, 1959, in Lafayette, Sylvester lived a life marked by his devotion to his family and his commitment to his profession. He was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. He was a steadfast and loyal friend, always willing to lend a helping hand, and his kindness touched the lives of many.
Sylvester's greatest joy was his grandchildren, whom he adored and cherished. His love for them was evident in every interaction, a testament to his gentle and loving nature.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Popillion; siblings, Daniel Popillion, and Laura Patterson; daughter in law, Rebecca Popillion; five grandchildren, Triniti, Raylin "Poppi", Lailah, Jace, and Omarion.
He is preceded in death by his son, Raylin Jamar Popillion Sr.; siblings, Joseph Popillion, and Teresa Ledet.
The family will receive friends Saturday May 31,2025, from 8:30 a.m., until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m., in the Reed Chapel at Riley Smith & Sons, 315 N. 14th Street, Kinder, Louisiana. Rev. Eddie Alfred, Jr. will be officiating. Interment will follow at Botley Cemetery, Kinder, Louisiana. A Repast will be held in the Smith Hall at Riley Smith & Sons.
