Karam
Sep 22, 1935 — Jul 24, 2026
Semiramis Karam, 90, of Kinder, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born on September 22, 1935, in Jerusalem.
Semi was a devoted follower of Christ and a faithful Catholic whose life was rooted in her unwavering faith. She was a longtime member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder, a proud member of the Catholic Daughters, and faithfully prayed the Rosary every day. Her faith guided her life and was evident in the love, compassion, and generosity she extended to everyone she met.
Her greatest joy was her family. She treasured every opportunity to gather loved ones around the dinner table, making sure no one ever left hungry. She was her family's biggest supporter, rarely missing her grandchildren's sporting events and celebrating each of their accomplishments with pride. Semi loved cooking, especially Mexican and Lebanese cuisine, and enjoyed sharing meals with those she loved. Fluent in both Spanish and English, she connected easily with people from many backgrounds. She found great joy in playing the piano and teaching others to play.
Semi attended Ursuline Academy in Laredo, Texas, before earning her degree in Pharmacy from The University of Texas at Austin. She dedicated 62 years of her life to serving others as a Pharmacist, including 24 years at Allen Parish Hospital and over 50 years at Cappel's Drug Store currently Kinder Family Pharmacy. She took tremendous pride in her work and was known for her unwavering commitment to her patients. Her phone was always within reach, and she never hesitated to answer a call or leave what she was doing to ensure someone received the medication they needed. Her compassion, professionalism, and tireless dedication earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the community she faithfully served. She was awarded the Kinder Chamber of Commerce lifetime achievement award in 2018.
Semi will be remembered for her kindness, strength, generosity, and steadfast faith. She touched countless lives through her service, friendship, and unconditional love. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
