Roy William Smith, 79, of Reeves, Louisiana, passed away on May 9, 2026, in Kinder, Louisiana. A believer in Christ and a devoted family man, Roy cherished time with his loved ones-especially holidays and special moments with his grandchildren. Each grandchild held a unique place in his heart, and he made sure they knew it by giving every one of them a special nickname.

Roy was known for his warm sense of humor and his generous spirit-always ready with a joke, a good time, and often giving away anything he thought someone else could use. He took pride in his work as an exceptional transmission mechanic and approached life with passion and grit. In his quieter moments, he enjoyed watching cowboy movies, camping, and being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Smith; his children, Crystal Smith Bass (Michael), Tracie Smith (Jake), Marlene Anderson (Clint), Cathy Estay, Buddy Estay (Brandy), and Keith Estay; his sibling, Shirley Pellerin; grandchildren: Austin, Tagen, Elijah, Zack, Caleb, Lee, Justin, Mick, Morgan, Ethan, Luke, Anna, Samantha, JJ, Desiree, Chase, Alexandra, Aiden, and Julian; great-grandchildren: Kodak, Brooks, Banks, Emmie, Jude, Reese, Kynzleigh, Liam, Grayson, Alexia, Bo, Easton, Milee, Mallory, Rosealee, Raylynn, and Ryleign; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Smith and Lillian Clavier Smith; his children, Danny Lee Smith, Matthew Austin Coleman, and Johnny Ellender; his grandchild, Brandon Fruge; and his sibling, Ray Allen Smith.


Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 12th @ 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume Wednesday, May 13th at 9:00 a.m. to the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Riley Smith and Sons Reeves Chapel 219 Ford St Reeves, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Creel Cemetery Reeves, Louisiana.
