Romaine Martin, a cherished member of the Orange, Texas community and the Orange Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints passed away on January 23, 2026. She was known for her love of breadmaking, warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to family, faith, and friends.

Romaine was born in Bakersfield, California on January 15, 1932. Romaine lived a life marked by compassion and service. Her presence illustrated every space she entered, and she touched countless lives. She was admired for her love of singing, quilting, sewing, doll making, and fresh bread.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Martin, Melody Stant, Loana Womack, and Penny Wheeler; 28 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 77 years, Bobby Martin; sons, Robert Martin and Samuel Martin; daughter, Dani Downs

She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and perseverance that will endure in the lives of those who had the privilege to know her.

A memorial service to honor Romaine's life will be held in March.
