Preston Joseph Bourque was born on December 5, 1935, in Abbeville, Louisiana, to Cleophas Ophe Bourque and Elodie Bertrand Bourque.
He passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, in Pineville, Louisiana, at the age of 90.
Preston was a man who cherished family above all else. He enjoyed spending time at Holly Beach with his loved ones, found great joy in cooking, and delighted in gathering with family. He also loved selling fruit at the Farmer's Market, where his friendly spirit touched many.
He is survived by his two daughters, Letha Cormier and JoAnn Benoit; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Ray Allen Bourque and Mary Ann Bourque. Preston also leaves behind a host of family and friends who will forever remember his warmth and kindness.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Linda Reed, John Mark Bourque, and Violet Ann Dartez; and six siblings.
Preston's legacy is one of love, generosity, and dedication to family. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
