his greatest passion was serving God, his family, and the church

Norman Macey, Jr. was born on November 10, 1929, to Bonnie and Norman Macey. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Macey; his mother and stepfather, Bonnie and Rudy Knapick; and his son, Larry Macey.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 76 years, Bobbie Jean Macey; his brother, Robert Macey, and wife, LaNell; his sister, Patricia Blocker; and his children, Norman Macey III and wife, Sharon; Rev. Ron Macey and wife, Jeanna; and Darla Womack and husband, Bobby.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Adam Macey and wife, Sophie; Kayla Davis and husband, Justin; Brandon Macey and wife, Chesney; Brittany Wells and husband, Tauren; Alyssa Pace and husband, Keith; and Erica Green and husband, Jared; along with 20 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Norman worked for Champion Paper Mill and Simpson Paper Mill for 35 years. Throughout his life, however, his greatest passion was serving God, his family, and the church.

Norman first attended Stonewall Pentecostal Church, where his father-in-law, Rev. Ira Jones, served as pastor. His love for God and his desire to serve others continued throughout his life. He taught Sunday School for many years at Irvington Pentecostal Church, Life Tabernacle, and Mount Houston Pentecostal Church.

Norman also had a gift for serving with his hands. He assisted with building programs at Mount Houston Pentecostal Church and Royalwood Church, also helping in several churches in a day building projects. At 71 years of age, he traveled to Honduras and helped build a church there-a special experience that became one of the highlights of his life.

For many years, Norman served as Director of Maintenance and Campus Operations at Royalwood Church. He also oversaw the church bookstore and faithfully served as an usher and trustee on the church board.

Norman loved God deeply. He loved his family, his church, his pastors, and the many church families he was blessed to serve. Throughout his 96 years of life, he served God and others in countless ways, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, love, and devotion.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his legacy of faith will continue through the generations.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 12:00 p.m., until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at Royalwood Church, 7803 Uvalde Road, Houston, Texas. Rev. Ron Macey, Rev. Brandon Macey, Rev. Brett Jones, and Rev. Scott Jones will be officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas.
