Mary Ann Spears, born on August 3, 1960, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 10, 2026, at the age of 65.

Mary was a woman of faith who cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She found joy in cookouts, fishing, spending time outdoors and talking to anyone who would listen. When talking to Mary, you would be lucky to get a word in. She was a devoted wife with a servant's heart, and her home was always open to those she loved. Known as the heart of her family, Mary kept everyone in line with a warm smile and a witty personality. She also had a special love for Dr. Pepper and was rarely seen without one in hand.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Spears; her children, Ricky Whitaker and his wife, Madison, Robin Jones, Marybeth Whitaker, and Joseph Whitaker; her grandchildren, Madison, Maggie, Leni, Brayden and wife Hannah, Carissa, Kayley, and Alissa; her great-grandchildren, Beaux, Jax, Marilyn, and Ella; and her siblings, June Bricker, Sally Killian, Susie Riggle, Elmo Whitaker and his wife, Joanie, Lizzie Whitaker, and Gloria Jean Whitaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Blanche Whitaker; and her siblings, Buddy Whitaker, Steve Whitaker, Nancy Whitaker, Annie Rose Heath, and Annie Marie Spears.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in the Reed Chapel - Riley Smith & Sons - Kinder from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., then on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Green Oak Cemetery, Kinder, Louisiana.
