Marilyn Rose
Irvin
Oct 26, 1959 — Mar 14, 2026
Marilyn Rose Latham Irvin, 66, passed away on March 14, 2026, in Kingwood, TX. . She was born on October 26, 1959, and lived a life full of love, resilience, and meaningful connections with those around her.
Marilyn built a remarkable career in hospitality, becoming a Senior Reservation Agent with Intercontinental Hotels. Her work allowed her to become well-traveled and experience the world beyond her Texas roots. Over the years, she visited places including New York, Washington, D.C., Niagara Falls, Montreal, Canada, Madrid, London, and Rio de Janeiro-memories she cherished deeply. She began her professional journey at Gallery Furniture, where she proudly worked for Mattress Mac, a role she often spoke of with pride. Following the passing of her beloved husband in 2000, Marilyn chose to retire and devote her time to family and the simple joys of life.
Marilyn was a woman of many passions. She loved to read-especially murder mysteries-watch movies (with a special fondness for comedies), and listen to music across nearly every genre. She found joy in swimming, fishing, dancing, traveling, and writing letters. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and friends, serving as a trusted confidant and source of strength to those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brian F. Irvin Sr.; her parents, Shirley and James Latham; her sister, Carolyn Johnson; her nephew, Blaise Johnson; her brother, Chris Latham; her sister-in-law, Lisa Latham; her parents-in-law, Thomas Irvin, Barbara Carroll, and Wayne Carroll; her brother-in-law, Mike Carroll; and her companion, James Hunter.
Marilyn leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy: her daughters and sons-in-law, Serena and Justin Gammons, and Barbie and Casey Timms; her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Shelbie Irvin; and her cherished grandchildren, Jason Hunt Jr. and Brandy, Victoria and Santana Dominguez, Phillip and Melody Montgomery, Curtis and Shamber Jones, Megin and Josh Woods, Brian and Jillian Irvin, Abbigail and Juliet Irvin, and Eliana and Oliver Timms. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Liam, Noellie, Elian, Miranda, William, Brooklyn, Natalee, and Moriah.
She is further survived by her brothers, Vernard Latham Sr., Charles Latham, William "Billy" and wife Roseann Latham; as well as her companion, Evel Jones.
Marilyn will be remembered as a beautiful and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
