Margaret Norris Stains was born January 17, 1948, and passed away April 6, 2026, at the age of 78.

Margaret will be remembered for the simple joys that brought her happiness and the love she shared so freely. She enjoyed playing cards, sipping coffee, and spending time with her family, creating memories that will be cherished forever. She enjoyed crabbing and took great pride in cooking, always bringing people together around her table. Her warmth, laughter, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, John Perkins, Ronald Stains and partner Becky Smith, and Jennifer Smith; grandchildren, Heather White and husband Jared, Bobby Greenfield and wife Ashlie, Chad Greenfield, Kimberly Norwood and fiancé Robert Brantley, Megan Marceaux and husband Tyler, Myrissa Lejuhn and husband Cody, Adam Smith, and John Paul LaPoint; 20 great grandchildren; and siblings, Genevieve Stains and Henry Norris; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Percy Stains; granddaughter, Lois Stains; parents, James and Clarice Norris; and siblings, James Norris, Jeanette Hyatt, Clarice Stains, and John Norris.

Pallbearers will be Adam Smith, John Paul LaPoint, Jimmy Stains, James Halloway, Bobby Greenfield, and Robert Brantley.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2026, and continuing from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Rev. Rob Tibbitts and Rev. Anthony Kennon will be officiating. Interment to follow at Miller Annex Cemetery, Starks, Louisiana.
