Mable Smith Thibodeaux was born on June 9, 1940, and passed away on July 9, 2026, at the age of 86.
Mable was an amazing mother and dedicated homemaker when her children were young. She poured her heart into caring for her family. She loved babies and found great joy in nurturing the little ones around her. A very talented seamstress, Mable was incredibly creative and could turn any piece of fabric into something beautiful. She was also a fantastic cook, baker, and cake decorator, known for her delicious meals and special cakes that brought smiles to many faces.
Strong, independent, and a very hard worker, Mable faced life with determination and grace. Her creativity, love for her family, and tireless spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Adolf Thibodeaux; her children, Deborah Pytell (John), Jackie Miller, Johnny Miller (Betty), Kathy Robin
(Darby), Sheila Billiot (Paul Jr.), Melissa LeJeune (Dwayne), and Randy Miller (Ashley); stepchildren, David Thibodeaux and Nicole Reed (Donald); grandchildren, John, Theresa, Jacob, Christopher, Brandy, Josh, Cedric, K- Lynn, Ryan, Tyler, Amberley, Garrett, Chaplin, Izabella, Anthony, Cindy, Chilali, Darrell, Stefan, Laney, Trey, Kaedyn, Mackenzie, Ryland, Daniel, Brandon, and Aaron; step granddaughter, Chelsie; 28 great grandchildren; brother, James "Jimmy" Smith; sister in law, Theresa Broussard.
She is preceded in passing by her first husband, Robert "Bobby" Miller, Sr.; son, Robert Miller, Jr.( Vanessa "Totsie"); parents, O' Neil & Irene Smith; grandsons, Rusty Miller & Blaze Louviere; brothers, Linus Broussard, Bobby Jo Smith, and O' Neil "Bebe" Smith, Jr.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at First Pentecostal Church, 320 Bunker Road, Lake Charles, Louisiana. Pastor Jeff Ralston will be officiating. Interment will follow at St. Jules Cemetery, 5487 Riverside Road, Iota, Louisiana.
