Lynell McDonald was born February 5, 1960, and passed away February 9, 2026, at the age of 66.

Lynell was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend who brought warmth, love, and joy to everyone around her. She was truly the best woman to those who were fortunate enough to know her.

She had a deep love for cooking and took great pride in bringing people together around the table. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, filled with comforting meals, laughter, and recipes made with love.

Her grandchildren were the center of her world. She treasured every moment with them, always making them feel special, loved, and cared for in ways only she could.

She was also wonderfully crafty, finding joy in creating beautiful things with her hands. Her creativity and thoughtfulness shone through in everything she did.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Johnny McDonald, Sr.; children, J.J. McDonald, and Jason McDonald; grandchildren, Laynee Welborn, Camdan McDonald, and Brodie McDonald; and sister, Terry Pietrowitz.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roderick Mayo and Mary Myers; brother, Roderick Mayo, Jr.; and sister, Stacey Mayo

Cremation was entrusted to Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
