Linda Nixon Bushnell, born January 25, 1939, in Kinder, Louisiana, to Rufus Nixon Sr. and Hattie Nevils Nixon, peacefully entered her eternal home on September 30, 2026, in Kinder at the age of 87.

Throughout her life, Linda faithfully devoted herself to God and to her beloved husband, Rev. Carroll Bushnell. She traveled alongside him throughout his ministry and lovingly served as a motherly presence to the many churches they pastored. Linda delighted in tending her flower beds, but her greatest joy was found in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a love beyond words.

She is survived by her children, Craig Bushnell and his wife, Lori; Bruce Bushnell and his wife, Sandra; and Mira Odom; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Curtis Nixon, Roy Nixon and his wife, Linda, and Junelle Bushnell and her husband, Rev. Terry Bushnell.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Reverend Carroll Bushnell; her parents; her son-in-law, Floyd Odom; and her siblings, Nelda Doucette, Hubert Nixon, Jack Nixon, and Rufus "Boosie" Nixon Jr.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Indian Village United Pentecostal Church Building Fund.

Visitation will be held at the Indian Village United Pentecostal Church, 4480 Hwy 383, Kinder, Louisiana on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m., until time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Scott Benoit officiating. Interment will follow in the Indian Village Cemetery.
