On January 3 2025, Laquita (Keet) Buxton, of Starks, Louisiana, went to be with her Lord, at the age of 72. She passed peacefully with her children and family by her side. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Dorman Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.&

Keet was born November 1 1952 and lived in Vidor, Texas, until July 16 1971, when she married Oscar Ricky Lynn Buxton. They were married 51 years and were blessed with 3 children: Holli Bevelhymerand husband, Ernest Bevelhymer, Lyndsey Buxton, and Justin Buxton, all from Starks, Louisiana. She was a loving grandmother to four grandsons: Kaiden Buxton, of Dallas, Texas, Jaceion Buxton, of Coushatta, Louisiana, Justin Buxton, Jr., of Starks, Louisiana, and Legend Buxton, of Toomey, Louisiana. Keet also has two sisters, Brenda Spell and husband, George Spell and Kristi Sims and husband, James Sims and multiple friends and family.

Keet was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Willie Flanigan; husband, Oscar Ricky Buxton; grandson, Dajire Buxton; and brother, George Flanigan.

Keet attended Calvary Apostolic Church, in Starks, Louisiana. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family. Keet will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
