Katie Irene Mullins was born November 14, 1944, and passed away March 22, 2026, at the age of 81.

Katie loved the outdoors and could often be found tending to her yard, working in her garden, and caring for her flowers with pride and dedication. She truly enjoyed visiting with others and never missed a chance to share a kind word or a warm conversation. Her faithful dog, Precious, was always by her side, bringing her comfort and companionship. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of nature, and the joy she found in the everyday moments of life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Sheila, Tim, and Doug; grandchildren, Jeff, Mandy, Jason, Christian, Kendall, and Ryan; great grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Brycelynn, Kandice, Beau, Hunter, Jacob, Remi, Brooklyn, Aubree, Laniee, and Kenedy; siblings, James Hood and Dianne Bullard; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Otis Mullins; daughter, Kathleen; grandsons, Jonathan Babineaux, Caleb Cole Mullins, and Shanon Paul Babineaux; great grandson, Jonathin Babineaux; parents, Frank and Beulah Hood; and her furbaby, Sassy.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2026, with the funeral service being held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Mr. Robert Marcantel will be officiating. Interment to follow at Rigmaiden Cemetery, DeQuincy, Louisiana.
