Kathleen Olive Woodard, born on February 29, 1948, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, went home to be with Jesus on January 31, 2026, at the age of 77. She was the beloved daughter of Oliver Woodard and Nina Eula Hampton Woodard.

A devoted and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Lake Charles, Kathleen was admired for her unwavering love of reading and her passion for nurturing beautiful flowers. She found immense joy in the company of her cherished cats, who were her daily companions and brought her much happiness.

Kathleen leaves behind her loving son, Eric Jerome Woodard; her siblings, Florida Arabie and Sheila McBride (Cecil); her dear cat, Lucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Nina Woodard, and her siblings, Lorraine Jones and Walter Savant.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m., at Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home, located at 517 Broad Street, Lake Charles, Louisiana. Reverend Dwayne Daigle will be officiating. Interment will follow at McRill Cemetery.

Kathleen's warmth, faith, and love for both people and animals will be fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
