Joshua Jacob 'Catfish' Nolan was born December 20, 1990, and passed away October 23, 2026, at the age of 35.
Catfish was a one-of-a-kind man who lived life on his own terms. He was stubborn and set in his ways, but that was part of what made him who he was. He was outgoing, kindhearted, and always left an impression on the people he met.
He loved spending time playing pool, going hunting, and enjoying the things that made him happiest. Catfish had a big heart, a strong personality, and a way of doing things that was all his own.
He will be remembered for his stubborn spirit, his kindness, his love of the outdoors, and the memories he made with those around him. Catfish may be gone, but he will never be forgotten by the people who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, George and Deborah Nolan; longtime girlfriend, Susan Bland; siblings, Melanie Askari (Josh), Josh David Guillory (Kristen), Aundrea Toups, and Michael Nolan (Brent); nieces and nephews, Logan, Sara, Gideon, Maliah, Isaiah, and Mayleigh; and aunt and uncles, Roger Richard (Teresa), Diane Piper, Donald Nolan (Sharon), and Kaylynn Smith (Larry).
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tom and Judy Nolan; maternal grandparents, Sonny and Joy Richard; and Bobby and Jolene McClain.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Dorman - Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church, 2335 State Highway 12 East, Deweyville, Texas. Rev. John Fortenberry will be officiating. Interment to follow at Deweyville Cemetery, Deweyville, Texas.
