Jo Ann Smith was born June 23, 1943, and passed away April 13, 2025, at the age of 81.
Jo Ann was a faithful member of Buna United Pentecostal Church for 47 years and served alongside her husband as Sunday School teachers and Bible Quizzing coaches. She enjoyed feeding people and was well known for her famous coconut pie. Jo Ann and her husband also owned and operated Fausto's in Buna for 25 years. She was loved by many and will greatly be missed.
She is survived by her children, Sandy Hateley and husband Larry, Debbie Sammons and husband Rodney, Joni Moses and husband Terry, JoLynn Albritton and husband Rev. Greg; grandchildren, Kristin Jordan, Ashlee Haefs and husband James, Aaron Sammons and wife Stormie, Kourtney McGuire and husband David, Kevin Nevius, Joshua McGrew, Georgia Mills, Eden Mills, Emrie Albritton, Edyn Albritton and Creed Albritton; and 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Judy Parker and husband Mike, Randy Clyma and wife Jamie.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry L. Smith; son, Ronald Byrd; and siblings, Butch Clyma, Larry Clyma and June Bailes.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Sammons, David McGuire, James Haefs, Huck McGuire, Darren Turner, and Todd Henderson.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at Buna United Pentecostal Church, 116 County Rd. 833, Buna Texas 77612. Pastor Dykes will be officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery, Buna Texas.
