Jeanne Louise
Willett Goodwin
May 20, 1960 — Apr 29, 2026
Mrs. Jeanne Louise Willett Goodwin passed away surrounded by loved ones on April 29, 2026, at the age of 65. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 20, 1960, to Gaylord and Betty Ann Willett, who preceded her in death in 2019 and 2009, respectively.
Jeanne leaves behind the love of her life, her husband, Michael Goodwin; beloved son, Preston Dunagan; darling daughter, Julia Martinez, and son-in-law, Matthew Martinez; brother, Jacque Willett, and sister-in-law, Pat Willett; and many other cherished family members and friends.
Jeanne's early years were spent in Dallas, Texas, where she grew up doing gymnastics, riding dirt bikes, and discovering her passion for music. At just 14 years old, she wrote and recorded her first album. Her future husband, Mike Goodwin, drove her to the recording studio, as they were dating at the time. Jeanne was a talented lead singer, guitarist, and pianist, and she also had a natural gift for learning almost any instrument she set her mind to playing. She moved to California for a year at age 18 with her parents and spent that time recording music in Huntington Beach. After returning to Dallas, she became an active part of the local music scene, working at Charley's Guitar Shop and the Dallas Guitar Show, while also starting her own band, Jeanne 3 Wish. During this time, she also worked at Cross Country Land Co. for her lifelong best friend, Jana Hayes.
Jeanne's passion for music was only ever outshined by her devotion to her faith and love for her family. She was a radiant source of positivity and kindness, and spoke about Jesus everywhere she went. She loved her family fiercely and made sure they felt her love every day. Jeanne welcomed Preston in 1991 and Julia in 1993, her children were her pride and joy. Her love for them was unwavering and will live on through them always. In 2003, Jeanne moved to Montgomery, Texas, with her children to be closer to her parents. She spent the rest of her life in Montgomery, living on Lake Conroe, where she raised her children, made countless friends, and rekindled her relationship with Mike in 2019.
Mike and Jeanne married on October 7, 2020. The love she felt for him radiated from her, and the last years of her life were some of the happiest we ever saw her. Jeanne was a one-of-a-kind wife, mother, and friend. Knowing her was a blessing, and she will be missed beyond measure.
