Janice Theresa Chandler, born on January 13, 1943, in Joliet, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, in Austin, Texas, at the age of 82.

Janice was the cherished wife of the late Jeff Chandler, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2024. She was a devoted mother to Christopher David Chandler and Steven Philip Chandler, both of whom survive her, as well as to her late son, Jeffrey Scott Chandler.

Janice was the beloved daughter of the late Sadie L. (Willis) and Jesse P. Edwards. She is now reunited in rest with her siblings, Rose M. (Edwards) Hill and Arthur D. Edwards, while lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings: Helen A. (Edwards) Jones, Frances L. (Edwards) Cook, and Jesse P. Edwards.

Family was Janice's greatest joy, particularly her beloved granddaughters, Amber Haygood and Jasmyn Chandler as well as her cherished great-granddaughter, Emily Haygood, whom she adored deeply. She celebrated every moment spent with them and embraced every opportunity to be part of their lives. Janice also had an immense love for her grand dogs, nurturing them as if they were her own children. Even in her final days, she spoke tenderly of her "babies" Hunter & Fisher, highlighting the profound bonds she shared with them.

Janice's life was a testament to enduring love, resilience, and a warmth that embraced everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her absence will be profoundly felt by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

A celebration of Janice's life will be held at 9:15 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2025, at Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery.
