Obituary

James Curtis Miller was born to Marshall Minuet Miller and Lillian Inez Freeman Miller on January 5, 1941, in Orange, Texas. He passed from this life on September 12, 2025, in The Woodlands, Texas, at eighty-four years of age.

James graduated from high school in Crockett, Texas. He married Anita Crystell Gilbert on October 14, 1961. They were married for sixty-three years, and their family grew to include two children, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

James was well known as a talented craftsman and builder. He owned his own business and built custom homes. He also used his talents to help various churches in construction projects. James was also known for his generosity. He gave not only of his talents, but also of his finances to help many people.

James loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church for most of his life.

James is survived by daughter Sandra Miller Rhoads (Phillip); son James Richard "Rick" Miller (Sharon); grandchildren: Justin Rhoads, Melissa Rhoads-Jaquez, Paul Miller, Kristin Rhoads-Ikerd, Jason Rhoads, Marshall Miller, Dawson Miller, and Brenham Miller; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother Minuet Earl Miller; best friend and cousin Max and Jeanette Haney; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Roger and Judy Jolley; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m., until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m., September 19, 2025, at Conroe United Pentecostal Church, 1612 Oddfellow Street Conroe, Texas. Interment to follow at 2:30 p.m., at South Park Cemetery, 1310 North Main Street Pearland, Texas.

James' family would like to give special thanks to the staff of ­­­­­­Park Manor in The Woodlands for their excellent care during the last two months of his life.
