Irene "Tene" Perkins was born October 31, 1933, and passed away January 6, 2025, at the age of 91. She was one of the first original members of Hargrove Pentecostal Church. There she was a faithful member and attended for 68 years. She enjoyed fishing and scrolling on Facebook. Every Saturday she met with her friends to play her favorite game, Phase10. Tene loved the Lord and her family more than anything. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Anice LeGros and husband Eric, Brenda Parker, and Robert "Rod" Perkins Sr. and wife Kathy; 8 grandsons; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Asolete Burnitt; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Everett Perkins; parents, Gus Stanley and Dora Kingrey Stanley; son-in-law, James Parker; and brothers, JD Stanley, Orville Stanley, and Jabo Stanley.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2024, with the funeral service being held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Hargrove Pentecostal Church, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Pastor Anthony Kennon, Rev. David Kennon, and her nephew, Rev. Wesley Stanley will be officiating. Interment to follow at Good Hope Cemetery, Singer, Louisiana.
