Gary L. Trahan was born August 6, 1957, and passed away June 5, 2026, at the age of 68.

Gary was a man who found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. He had a deep love for riding horses and could often be found spending time in the saddle, enjoying the freedom and peace that came with being outdoors. Whether on a trail or working around the property, horses were a lifelong passion that brought him great happiness.

He was known for his talent at the barbecue pit, where family and friends could always count on a good meal, plenty of laughter, and a welcoming place to gather. He enjoyed cooking for others and took pride in bringing people together around good food and good company.

One of his favorite pastimes was spending time with the guys, sharing stories, jokes, and memories that often lasted well into the evening. His easygoing nature and sense of humor made him a valued friend to many.

Above all, Gary cherished his family. He treasured the moments spent with loved ones and created countless memories that will be remembered for years to come. His loyalty, kindness, and steady presence were gifts to those who knew him best.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kathy Trahan; children, Josh Trahan, Andy Edwards and wife Maria, Chris Edwards, and Amanda White; grandchildren, Destiny, Kaitlyn, Skyla, and Haley; great grandchild, Misa; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Bullet.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Olis "Red" and Laura Trahan; 1 sister; and 3 brothers.

Cremation was entrusted to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, DeQunicy, Louisiana.
