Frederick "Buddy" Daniel Shay was born September 9, 1938, and passed away September 12, 2026, at the age of 88.

Buddy was a tough man who never gave up and was never a quitter. He was a hardworking, dedicated man who took great pride in everything he did. Buddy loved to work and build his business and was always helping others.

He was the owner of FD Shay Constructor, where his dedication and strong work ethic showed in everything he accomplished. Buddy was also a giver and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was thoughtful, considerate, and cared deeply about the people around him.

When he wasn't working, Buddy enjoyed hunting and spending time doing something he loved. He will be remembered for his strength, determination, generosity, and kind heart.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Shay; along with numerous children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and numerous siblings.

Cremation was entrusted to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana.
