Evelyn Pierce Bowman was born July 21, 1938, and passed away April 8, 2026, at the age of 87.

She was a faithful and devoted charter member of Singer Baptist Church, where her presence and commitment were deeply cherished. A loving and caring woman, she devoted her life to her family, always placing their needs above her own and surrounding them with warmth and kindness. She found great joy in gardening and planting flowers. She also enjoyed working and took pride in everything she did. She especially cherished time spent with her family, enjoying meals together and creating lasting memories around the table. She will be remembered for her faith, her loving heart, and the simple joys she brought into the lives of those around her.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer Johnston and husband Buddy, Johnny Bowman and wife Richelle, Janet Ashworth and husband Patrick, and Joseph Bowman and wife Tina; grandchildren, Sonny Johnston and wife Danisha, Brooke Bury and husband Chad, Lindsay Layfield and husband Daniel, Amy Bowman, Jonathan Ashworth and wife Kaitlon, Zachary Ashworth and wife Mazie, Alisha Parsons, Brittany Felice, and Josie Holley; great grandchildren, Maci, Easton, Carter, Gracie, Ryker, Rylee, Vivian, Makayla, and Josie; and siblings, Miriam Massie, Verna Pickering, Gail Frazier, Carl Pierce Jr., Donnie Pierce and wife Linda, and Ronnie Pierce and wife Sam.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John "Honey" Bowman; grandchildren, Christina Sims, Tyler Sims, Christopher Ashworth, and Cody Bowman; parents, Helen and Carl Pierce Sr.; and siblings, Lila Couteter, Robert Pierce, Tommy Pierce, Roger Pierce, Kenny Pierce, and Jerry Pierce.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2026, and continuing from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Singer Baptist Church, 9106 LA-27, Singer, Louisiana. Pastor Jimmy Clark, Rev. Donnis Ashworth, and Rev. Carlton Jackson Jr. will be officiating. Interment to follow at Newlin Cemetery, Singer, Louisiana.
