Evain “Son”
Guillory
Nov 25, 1933 — Dec 20, 2024
Evain Guillory, 91, departed this life at home with family on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11:50 AM.
Evain, lovingly called "Son" by family and close friends in Kinder and the surrounding areas, was born in DeQuincy, LA to Felix "Do" Guillory and Lessie (Botley) Guillory on November 25, 1933.
He completed Carver High School and went on to the military where he actively served his country in the United States Air Force for 18 years. While in the Air Force, he met the love of his life, Willie Rose (Brown) Guillory in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Evain married Willie Rose Guillory on 12/31/1956. They went on to live 68 beautiful years of marriage. They traveled the world until they were ready to start a family 14 years later. Unto their union, 2 children were born, Willie Evain and Rose Ethel.
Evain was always a hard worker, who insisted on being the sole provider for his family. He worked for Missouri and Union Pacific Railroad where he was a conductor for 50 years. He was a legend in the railroad world. He mentored and helped secure jobs for many railroad workers. The stories of his brave acts on the train are still being told today. He was a giant with the biggest heart. He was so strong. He could run and jump on a train going 50 miles an hour then wave his lantern letting cars know that it was safe to cross the tracks.
He was the most wise, genuine, joyful, and positive person on the planet. He loved babies and children. Babies and children were drawn to him by his inner bright light. He loved to travel and wanted to leave the love of travel with his family. He took off work for 2 weeks every Summer just to pack up the camper to take his family all over the United States on road trips. Seeing his family happy, made him happy He cherished most his time with his grandkids. His eyes twinkled every time he looked at them. He was so proud of his offspring.
Evain (Son) leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Willie Rose (Brown) Guillory; 4 Children: Rose Pointer (Kenneth), Willie Evain Guillory (Suzette), Audrey Mae Coleman, Willman Guillory Jr. (Jan); 10 Grandchildren: Kenneth Jr., Kennedy Rose, Kandace, Hailey, Madison, Chris, Mona, Roman, Nikki, Derek; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and cousins.
