Eric Prudhomme, age 61, passed away on December 10, 2025, in Kinder, Louisiana. He was born on October 4, 1964, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Daniel & Frankie Prudhomme.
A believer in God, Eric was a faithful attendee of Mount Zion Baptist Church, where he found strength, and community. He loved his family wholeheartedly, never missing a chance to show his affection through time, laughter, and the simple joy of being together.
Eric also had a love for flowers, their beauty and color. He was known for cooking great food, a gift he used to bring comfort and happiness to those he loved. Whether preparing a favorite meal or trying something new, his cooking was an expression of care. Eric worked as school bus driver and was especially loved by his bus kids, often delighting them with candy and a friendly smile.
Eric touched the lives of those around him with kindness, love, and unwavering loyalty. His memory will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted parents, Daniel & Frankie Prudhomme; his loving siblings, Helen Graham, Willie Marcus Prudhomme, Vanessa Ruth Prudhomme, and Daniel Prudhomme and wife Julia; and a host of nieces and nephews who brought him great joy and who he cherished deeply.
Eric was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Melvin and Mary Prudhomme, Rosalie Gordon and Jim Foreman.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m., in the Reed Chapel at Riley Smith & Sons, 315 N 14th Street, Kinder, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Botley Cemetery Road, Kinder, Louisiana.
A repast will be held in the Smith Hall at Riley Smith & Sons.
