Obituary

Ella Mae Carrier was born February 2, 1947, and passed away May 2, 2026, at the age of 79.

She was a woman of simple joys and strong spirit, known for her love of family and the little things that made life sweet. She found happiness in tending to her flowering garden, where her care and patience brought beauty to life season after season. Many will remember her sitting with a cold Dr. Pepper in hand, a pack of cigarettes nearby, enjoying a quiet moment or sharing stories filled with humor and honesty. She had a lively side as well, especially when it came to bingo. Whether she was playing for fun or hoping for a lucky win.

Throughout her life, she wore many hats with pride and dedication. She served her community as a postal carrier, faithfully delivering not just mail but smiles along her route. She also worked as a beautician, helping others feel confident and cared for, always bringing warmth and conversation to those in her chair.

Above all else, she loved her family deeply. Her greatest joy came from time spent with those she held close, and her presence was a constant source of comfort, strength, and love.

She is survived by her children, Mildred Carrier Vincent and husband Louie Jr., Carlyss, Louisiana, Karen Sue Carrier Jones and husband Eddie, Sulphur, Louisiana, Troy Carrier and wife Tabitha, Valley Head, Alabama, Tammy Carrier Cormier and husband Mike, Sulphur, Louisiana, and Donna Carrier Fontenot and husband Scott, Sulphur, Louisiana; 2 grandchildren that she raised like her own, Chris Carrier and girlfriend Destiny, Sulphur, Louisiana, and Destiney Carrier Fritz and husband Matthew, Sulphur, Louisiana; 22 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Calhoun; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Sylvian Carrier; son, Rickey Carrier; great great granddaughter, Maxine Howell; parents, Romaine and Azalena Cain; and sisters, Betty Laughlin and Irma Jean Laughlin.
