Elaine Day was born April 19, 1943, and passed away June 21, 2026, at the age of 83.

Elaine dedicated 40 years of her life to teaching, touching the lives of countless students with her kindness, patience, and commitment to education.

Outside the classroom, Elaine enjoyed quilting, painting, and traveling. She found joy in creating beautiful things, exploring new places, and sharing her experiences with those she loved.

Above all, Elaine cherished her family. Her warmth, generosity, and dedication to others will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Shane Day and Kellie Lanchbury and husband Darrin; grandchildren, Charlotte Lanchbury and husband Thomas, and William Lanchbury; and sister, Colleen King.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ted Day; and parents, Patrick and Margaret Flanagan.

Cremation was entrusted to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana.
