Her home was a place of love and hospitality, and she will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion.

Edna Lillian Mancil of Oakdale, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born on May 18, 1935, to Reverend Dave Levi Winn and Sarah Emmons Winn.

Edna was a devoted member of Oakdale Bible Baptist Church and was known for her caring, loving, and generous spirit. Family was at the center of her life, and she dedicated herself to caring for others. Alongside her beloved husband, Arthur Mancil, Edna opened their home as foster parents, providing love, guidance, and a safe home to more than 80 children over the course of 43 years. The lives she touched through those years are a lasting testament to the size of her heart.

Edna found joy in the simple things in life. She loved cooking, gardening, spending time with family, and caring for others. Her home was a place of love and hospitality, and she will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Edna is survived by her children: Sheila Haymon of Houston; Brenda Mancil-Samadian and husband, Malek, of Dallas; Darrell Mancil and wife, Vicki, of League City; Joey (Chug) Mancil and wife, Vicky, of LeBlanc; Joe Broussard and wife, Tamara, of Toledo Bend; Willie Broussard of Lake Charles; Beth Drummond and Barry of Slidell; and Tina and James McBride of Gulfport.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jonathan Haymon; Sara Batres (Izzy); Jordan Haymon (Jasmine); Ty Mancil; Chipper Mancil; Sophia Samadian; Nicolas Samadian (Alexis); Noah Samadian; James Broussard (Jennifer); Joey Broussard; and Crystal Burnett, along with numerous great-grandchildren.

Edna is survived by her sister, Irene Philips, as well as a host of extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Mancil; her parents, Reverend Dave Levi Winn and Sarah Emmons Winn; and her siblings, Reverend Paul Winn, Jerry Winn, Harold "BoBo" Winn, Joyce Martinez, and Lou Washburn.

The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to Glenda "Tiny" Coker, Sherry Cohea, and Chantel Poulard for the loving care and kindness they gave to our Mom during her illness. Their compassion and dedication will always be deeply appreciated.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Oakdale Bible Baptist Church, 1605 Hwy. 1153, Oakdale, Louisiana. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Edna leaves behind a legacy of love that reaches far beyond her immediate family. Through the children she raised, the family she cherished, and the many lives she touched, her love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

She was deeply loved, faithfully devoted, and will be dearly missed.
