Douglas "Mac" Powell was born January 9, 1943, and passed away August 26, 2025, at the age of 82.

He is survived by his wife, Latoya Powell; children, Lisa Powell Brant, Kimberly Havard Wise, Paula Powell Roberts, Neil Schields, Kristina Powell, Lori Powell, and Caden Kibadeaux; Several grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix Powell and Palestine Paul; siblings, Lawerence Powell, Sam Powell, Adella Hannah, Laverne Simmons, Minnie Bell Flannigan, and Dorris Miller.

Family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., September 4, 2025 at Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., September 4, 2025 at Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Pastor Candace Henry will be officiating.
