Donald Eugene Buller, born August 18, 1953, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. His final words were, "I love y'all," a testament to the deep affection he held for his family and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, Kirby Buller of Kinder, LA; his mother, Vina Virginia " Jenny" Buller of Indian Village, LA; his brother, Kirby Wayne Buller of Flagstaff, AZ; and his sister, Eva Buller of Moss Bluff, LA.
He is survived by his sisters, Paula Norwood of Reeves, LA, Ivy Anderson of Dayton, TX, and his brother, Ronald Buller of Lake Charles, LA. Donald leaves behind his three beloved daughters, Brandy Buller of Houston, TX, Gina Buller of Houston, TX, and Cari Smith of Lake Charles, LA, as well as his son, Cade Buller of Houston, TX. Donald was also the proud grandfather to six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A proud graduate of Sam Houston High School, Donald was active in both football and track. He furthered his education at McNeese State University, where he was involved in the ROTC program, a foundation for his strong work ethic and dedication to service. Afterward, he pursued his passion for craftsmanship, transferring to trade school to become a journeyman carpenter. Over his career spanning more than 40 years, Donald worked in both industrial and residential construction, contributing to numerous important projects. Among his favorites were assisting with the construction of the Entergy powerhouse and the Lake Charles Civic Center.
Donald was also a man of faith, having attended Eastwood Pentecostal Church during his younger years, where he was involved in the choir and productions. His love for the outdoors was evident, as he was an avid hunter, enjoying duck, squirrel, and deer hunting.
Throughout his life, Donald was known for his kindness, generosity, and compassion for others. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to those who have offered support during this time of loss.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Eastwood Pentecostal Life Center, Lake Charles, Louisiana
