Obituary

Debra "Debbie" Lavonia Miller Marceaux, age 69, peacefully passed away on March 30, 2025, surrounded by family, friends, and pets in her final days. Debbie was born on November 2, 1955, and throughout her life, she touched the hearts of all who knew her with her warmth, strength, and vibrant spirit.

Debbie was preceded in death by her daughter, Crysti Sachs; her parents, Apton and Doris Hawkins Miller; her sister, Johnette Miller-Barnes; and her brothers, Tommy Miller, Apton "AJ" Miller Jr., and Michael Miller. She is survived by David Marceaux, her spouse of 28 years and lifelong companion. She is also survived by her children: Joshua Marceaux and Michelle Reifsnider, Jerimy and Janice Marceaux, and Haley and Danielle Marceaux; her brother, Rodney Miller; and her sister Margaret Wilks. Debbie was the proud grandmother of Christopher Cisneros, Thylor and Tati Watkins, Samantha Marceaux and Matthew Breaux, Joshua Marceaux II, and Dayton Marceaux, and the cherished great-grandmother of Logan Matt, Lariah Cisneros, and Malakai Watkins.

Debbie's life was defined by her boundless love for family and friends. A lifelong free spirit, she was always connected to the people she loved most. Her passion for spending time or chatting with her family, her friends, and her beloved pets was unwavering. She found joy in the simplest pleasures, whether it was feeling the wind in her hair while cruising or enjoying the beauty of the beach. Her home was a haven for her loved ones, and she had an unparalleled ability to make anyone feel welcome, loved, and important
.
Despite facing adversity, including the loss of her parents at a young age, Debbie was a force to be reckoned with. Strong-willed and resilient, she always figured out how to make the best of every situation with the bare minimum, showing strength and perseverance that inspired all who knew her. She was the epitome of "spit-fire" energy and lived life on her own terms, with a smile on her face and a laugh that was contagious.
Debbie's passion for animals was also a defining aspect of her life. She dedicated her time and inspired others to rescue and care for animals. At work, she was known for her friendships, creating lasting bonds with colleagues and truly making them feel like family.
Her legacy lives on in the countless friends she considered family and the many lives she touched with her laughter, love, and free spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest in peace, Debbie. You were truly one of a kind.
