Darla Delayne Dowden was born August 6, 1965, and passed away on November 2, 2026, at the age of 61.

Darla was a devoted believer in Christ whose strong faith guided her throughout her life. She was a lifelong member of Apostolic Temple in Lake Charles and treasured the fellowship of her women's group and their special gatherings.

Darla loved deeply and cherished time spent with her family. Always willing to help those around her, she gave freely of herself and extended grace to everyone she met. Strong-willed and spirited, she was affectionately known as a firecracker, yet she was also a true sweetheart and a mother to many.

In her quiet moments, Darla enjoyed crafting, reading, and coloring. She also had a remarkable green thumb and lovingly cared for her beloved plants. Her faith, strength, generosity, and nurturing spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her mother, Jeryl Darlene Dennis Dowden; children, Tristan Wiley (Rusty), Holly Dowden (Caleb Long), and Mark Scott; grandchildren, Hunter, Aiden, and Isabella; siblings, Scott Dowden (Rhonda), Rebecca Beard (Kevin), Jim Dowden (Tammy), Kim Dowden (Deanna), Lisa Dowden, and Brad Dowden.

She is preceded in death by her father, George Kenneth Dowden; and grandchild, Bentley Wiley.
