Obituary

Clarence Cole beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, born on December 23rd, 1939, and passed away peacefully on May 3rd, 2026, in Houston, Texas at the age of 86. Clarence was a devoted believer in Christ and a steadfast man of God, whose faith guided his every step.

Raised in Kinder, Louisiana, Clarence answered the call to serve his country and joined the U.S. Navy for two years. Upon returning home, he met his beloved bride Ethel, and together they began a family rooted in love and commitment. After his Navy service, Clarence dedicated over 30 years to Boise Cascade as a proud Union member, ultimately retiring after a long and successful career.

A true family man, Clarence cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, sharing wisdom, laughter, and life lessons. He was an life long fan of the LA Lakers, Dodgers, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Clarence found great joy in the simple pleasures of life whether he was cooking up delicious meals for loved ones or tending to his thriving garden with his well-known green thumb. His cool, calm, and collected nature endeared him to everyone who knew him.

Clarence is survived by his children, Dustin Cole and wife Avery, and daughter Kasie Cole; his godchildren, Amy and Krystal Cole; his grandchildren, Chance, Lance, Zeven, Destinee, Jasmine, Dustin Jr., Troy, Micha, and Aiden; his siblings, Ella B Ross, Lesley Cole, Landry Cole, Roy Cole, Lloyd Cole, Floyd Cole, Clint Cole, Lionel Cole, Ruby Brown, and Doris Releford; sisters-in-law, Jessica Skinner and Catina Fontenot; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends whose lives he touched.

He is preceded in passing by his loving wife, Ethel Cole; his parents, Lesley and Ida Ruth Cole; his children, Brian Cole and Evertt Lance Cole; his siblings, Elize Cole, Robert Lee Cole, Robert Lynn Cole, Wilma Cole, Vilma Knight, Marvin Cole, Lawrence Cole, and Jack Cole.

Clarence's legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

Active pallbearers to serve will be Brandon Watts, Troy Cole, Jeremy Skinner, William Hill, Lance Cole, and Josh Fontenot. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Chance Cole, Micha Cole, Aiden Cole, and Dustin Cole Jr.

Family will receive friends Saturday May 9th, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. to the time of service at 11:00 a.m. in the Reed Chapel at Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home 315 N 14th St Kinder, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Botley Cemetery Kinder, Louisiana.
Repast will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Magnolia Room Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home 315 N 14th St Kinder, Louisiana.
