Christina Lynn Lavergne, age 37, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at Lafayette General Medical Center after a courageous 12-year battle with kidney disease. Born on January 2, 1988, at Lafayette Charity Hospital, she was the beloved daughter of Joseph Louis Lavergne and Earline Marie Lavergne. Christina was originally from Port Barre, Louisiana, and later made her home in New Iberia, Louisiana where she was surrounded by family, friends, and a loving community.

Christina's kindness, warmth, and vibrant spirit touched everyone who knew her. She cherished spending time with loved ones, creating special memories and lasting bonds. In her free time, Christina enjoyed cooking, making jewelry, watching TV, and caring for her cherished fur baby, Stella Rose.

Christina's gentle soul and loving heart will be deeply missed. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all.

She is survived by her brother, Brandon and his wife Michaela Lavergne of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her aunt, Betty Courville of Leonville, Louisiana; cousins, Brenda Marks of Lawtell, Louisiana, and Roxy Noel of Leonville, Louisiana; her godparents, (Nanny and Uncle), Betty and Johnny Bergeron of Port Barre, Louisiana; her aunt and uncle, Monica and Shane Hartman of Tickfaw, Louisiana; along with many other dear cousins.

Christina was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eula Marie Lavergne and Joseph Louis Lavergne Sr.; Grandpa Smith and his wife Dot; uncles, Joseph Arthur Lavergne and John Allen Lavergne; aunt, Tina Arnaund; and two cousins, Tony and Michael Bergeron.

Cremation has been entrusted to Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 315 N. 14th Street, Kinder, Louisiana.
