Obituary

Charley "Charley Boy" Thompson was born February 13, 1946, and passed away July 10, 2025, at the age of 79.

Charley was a member if the First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. He worked as a welder out of the Boilermaker Union 587 in Orange, Texas for many years. He loved to run his dogs and deer hunt with many friends and family. He made so many memories over the years.

He is survived by his children, Craig Thompson, Monique "Neicy" Thompson and husband Art, Rev. Cody Thompson and wife Christie, and Rev. Chane Thompson and wife Selena; grandchildren, Cortney Poole Anderson and husband Earl, Kelcey Poole Foster and husband Ethan, Dillon Thompson, Ceaton Thompson and wife Brooke, Chanler Thompson and wife Madeline, Gamma Thompson, Christian Thompson, Rian Thompson, Rylie Thompson, and Cullem Alexander Thompson; great grandchildren, Devyn, Elliott, Collin, Case, Emerysn, Gabriel, Jonah, and Cohen; sister, Evelyn "Evie" Tanner; best friend and cousin Ed Smith; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Thompson; parents, Isaac McCoy Thompson Sr. and June Rigmaiden Thompson; children, Colton Thompson and Cevin Thompson; grandchildren, Daryl Alexander Thompson, Luke Thompson, Tracy Thompson; great grandchildren, Ellie Scott Thompson, Cassidy Coltyn Anderson, and Evelyn Louise Foster; brothers, Issac "Cobby", McCoy Thompson Jr. and Rev. James "Jimmy" Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Christian Thompson, Chanler Thompson, Ceaton Thompson, Clint Thompson, Casey Thompson, Colby "Skeeter" Thompson. Honorary Pallbearer is Ed Smith.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025. With the funeral service being held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. Pastor Carlton Jackson Jr. and Rev. A.D. Spears will be officiating. Interment will follow at Perkins Cemetery, DeQuincy, Louisiana.
