Charles Ray Dowden was born December 5, 1935, and passed away February 3, 2026, at the age of 90.

A thoughtful and curious soul, Charles greatly enjoyed reading and learning always eager to expand his knowledge and share what he discovered with others. He was smart in ways that mattered, wise, patient, and steady, and people often turned to him for guidance and reassurance.

Charles had a big heart and would help anyone in need, never hesitating to lend a hand, offer advice, or simply be there when it mattered most. His generosity and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Above all else, Charles loved his family. They were his pride, his joy, and the center of his life. His love was constant and unconditional, and his presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

He is survived by his niece, Rebecca Talley; great nephew, Dustin Talley and wife Crystal; great great nephew, James Talley; and great great niece Zadilyn Opal Talley.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Essie Dowden; and along with numerous family members.

Cremation was entrusted to Dorman - Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
