Obituary

Carolyn D. Allemand, 80, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, at Alexander IV Senior Living Memory Care in Macon, Georgia with family by her side when she stepped into heaven.

Carolyn, a long-time resident of Kinder, Louisiana, was born and raised in Nederland, Texas. She graduated from Nederland High School and then went on to fulfill her life goal of becoming a Registered Nurse by attending Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She was an honorary member of TSAOHN Houston, Texas.

Carolyn practiced nursing in several hospitals in different states as a labor and delivery nurse before having her own delivery of a "little" 9 lb. 6 oz. boy. (She loved to tell that story.) That little boy was the light of her life. After moving back to Texas in about 1973, she began working as an occupational health nurse in several refineries. She eventually settled in Conroe, Texas, at Huntsman Refinery. She loved the people she worked with at Huntsman and remained close friends with many of them.

While working for Huntsman, Carolyn met her best friend and love of her life, Bob Allemand, whom she married in 2004. She and Bob retired from Huntsman and moved to his hometown of Kinder, Louisiana. Carolyn developed so many good friends and sweet memories with family while in Kinder.

Carolyn loved to travel (and had the photo albums to prove it. One of her favorite phrases was "let's go..." Her answer was pretty much, "Where?" as she packed her suitcase. She traveled many states in the U.S. including Alaska, which was one of her favorites. Her trip of a lifetime, though, was to Ireland. She talked about that one for years.

She loved her Kinder Bible Church where she was active until her move in 2021. Carolyn loved to sing. She grew up with a Southern Gospel quartet dad who had us in his church choir at 6 years old so she could harmonize with the best of them. Most important of all, Carolyn loved the Lord and gave her life to Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a young age.

She is survived by her son, Joshua Huckaby; her sister, Shay, her husband, Carlton and niece, Allison; stepson, Bobby Allemand and his wife, Missy; as well as her step-grands, Layni (Zach) and Jarret (Megan). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, along with many family and friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Dickinson; her father, Joe Dickinson; and her husband, Bob Allemand.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Kinder Bible Church, 702 4th Avenue, Kinder, Louisiana on January 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Don Barrett will be officiating.
