Carla Jean Hyatt was born January 21, 1967, and passed away May 16, 2026, at the age of 59.

She loved her family more than anything and never met a stranger. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, loved, and seen. She loved cooking for the people she cared about - and if you ever had one of her "cat head" biscuits, you already know this. She loved dancing whenever the music came on and singing along to her favorite songs. She also loved shopping and finding a good deal - if it was on sale, she was buying it, period. Her laughter and light could fill any room she walked into. She will be remembered for her kind heart, beautiful spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.

She is survived by her children, Larissa Bass and Rocky Hyatt and wife Cheryl; grandchildren, Chandler Bass, Noah Bass, and Hayden Hyatt; mother, Hilda Says; sisters, Rebecca Wright and husband Dustin, and Halla Whitworth and husband Logan; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Hyatt; and father, Gene Smith.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2026, with the funeral service being held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2026, at Calvary Apostolic Church, Starks, Louisiana. Pastor Jeremy Shields and Rev. Karl Smith will be officiating. Interment to follow at VFW Cemetery, Starks, Louisiana.
