Bonnie
Powell
Aug 14, 1943 — Mar 17, 2026
Bonnie Powell was born August 14, 1943, and passed away March 17, 2026, at the age of 82.
While we are saddened to announce the passing of Bonnie Delight Powell, Heaven gained a beautiful soul on March 17, 2026. Bonnie is now reunited with her beloved late husband, Emmett "Buddy" Powell, as well as her mother, Bessie Cooley, and her father, Daniel Cooley.
Bonnie was born on August 14, 1943, and was known throughout her life for her kindness and generous spirit. She was always willing to help anyone in need, and no one could visit her home without being warmly welcomed and offered a Coke, Hershey's chocolate, two pieces of bacon, toast, or a cup of coffee.
Bonnie dedicated 30 years of service to the Ragley, Louisiana Post Office, where she worked diligently and took pride in her role in the community.
In her free time, Bonnie loved attending garage sales, where she enjoyed searching for items to add to her cherished Coca-Cola collection. She also loved sitting on her porch with a cup of coffee, visiting with anyone who stopped by. Tending to her yard and garden brought her great joy where no weed stood a chance, and her green thumb helped every plant flourish. She also enjoyed spending peaceful moments fishing in her pond.
Bonnie is survived by her loving family: her sister, Norma Cooley Puckett; her son, Greg "Petie" Powell and his wife, Helena Powell; and her daughter, Carrie "Patie" Clark and her husband, Doug Clark.
She was a proud and devoted "MawMaw" to her grandchildren: Levi Powell and his wife, Kelsea Powell; Kaysie Janclaes and her husband, Chris Janclaes; Ashlei Thevenet and her husband, Jacques Thevenet; Kaitlyn Armstrong and her husband, Aaron Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews.
She was lovingly known as "Honey Bunny" to her great-grandchildren: Halen Thevenet (Moe Bandy), Gabriel Powell, Emmilynn Thevenet, and Gunner "Buddy" Thevenet.
Bonnie will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the simple joys she shared with those around her. Her home, her porch conversations, and her loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
