Bonnie Rose Libick McMillian was born on May 2, 1941, and peacefully passed away on February 8, 2026.

Bonnie attended Sugartown High School and went on to live a life marked by dedication, intelligence, and service. She worked as the first secretary to the first president of Boise Southern in DeRidder, Louisiana. She was also a nursery owner of Bonny Plants and Almost Eden Nurseries, a licensed florist, and a Notary Public.

A woman of many roles, Bonnie was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a faithful Baptist and lived her faith through kindness, generosity, and love.

She was a proud member of Mensa, the Louisiana Master Gardener Association, and held credentials as a licensed florist. Her many hobbies reflected her creativity and curiosity: gardening and growing plants-especially those that attracted hummingbirds, square dancing, jigsaw puzzles, word games, cards and dominoes, needle arts including cross-stitch, embroidery, knitting, quilting, bird watching, and traveling.

So much made Bonnie unique, but above all else was her deep and unwavering love for her family. Family always came first. She found great joy in growing plants and generously sharing them with others, leaving beauty wherever she went.


She is survived by her loving husband, John Paul McMillian, Sr.; sons, the widow of John P. McMillian Jr.- Beatrice McMillian, Jesse McMillian and wife Teresa, James McMillian and wife Belinda, Jerry McMillian and wife Sandra, and Jeffrey McMillian and wife Dawn; 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Libick, Jr. and Bertha Ella Paul; sisters, Bernita Ella Libick and Nelda Laurena Libick; and her beloved son, John Paul McMillian, Jr.

Bonnie Rose Libick McMillian will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Cremation was entrusted to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
