Betty Jean
Trahan
Apr 5, 1940 — May 27, 2026
Betty Jean Trahan was born April 5, 1940, and passed away May 27, 2026, at the age of 86.
A devoted woman of faith, she found great joy in attending church and living a life grounded in love, kindness, and service to others. Her kitchen was often the heart of the home, where family and friends gathered to enjoy the delicious meals she prepared with care and pride. Her cooking was more than food, it was an expression of love that created lasting memories for all who sat at her table.
She cherished time spent with her family, finding happiness in simple moments together, whether sharing stories, celebrating holidays, or enjoying each others company. Christmas held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in the traditions, decorations, and togetherness that made the season so meaningful.
She also enjoyed some of life's unique pleasures, including watching professional wrestling, which brought her endless entertainment and excitement. Outside, her flower gardens reflected her nurturing spirit, blooming with beautiful crepe myrtles, tulips, and magnolias that she lovingly tended throughout the years.
She is survived by her sister, Elsie Whitehead; children, Henry Trahan, Jr., Debra Williamson; adopted children, Kathilene Trahan, Matthew Trahan and Johnathan Trahan; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; beloved granddaughter and caretaker, Joni Trahan; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Trahan, Sr.; daughter, Veronica Trahan; and brother, Bill Meche.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2026, at King Cemetery, 1761 Ruliffe Road, Hartburg, Texas.
Pallbearers are Matthew Trahan, Johnathan Trahan, Cecil Burnett, Chris Williamson, Kevin Williamson, and Michael Williamson. Honorary pallbearer is Awstyn Burnett.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral home toward funeral expenses.
