Berdwoal "Bill" Guillory was born September 27, 1933, and passed away October 21, 2026, at the age of 93.
Bill proudly served in the United States Navy for four years and an additional two years in the Navy Reserve during the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy, where he was the oldest male member. In January 1979, he was baptized in the name of Jesus, a moment that was an important part of his faith.
Bill retired after 69 years of service as a dragline operator with Local 406 Heavy Equipment Operator Union. He was a master gardener who could grow just about anything he planted. He had a special touch when it came to working the land and watching things grow.
Bill was a quiet man of few words, but his life spoke volumes. He was a man of integrity, strong beliefs, and unwavering faith. He loved God and his family deeply, and he lived his life with a quiet strength that those who knew him will always remember.
Bill leaves behind a legacy of hard work, faith, love, and dedication. He will be remembered for the man he was, the life he lived, and the love he shared with those closest to him.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna Rose Malone Guillory; daughter, Sondra "Sonjy" Guillory Tyler (Roger); grandchildren, Brandi (Robert), Kelli (George), and Laci; great grandchildren, Ethan, Shellbi, Hailiey, Matthew, Julie, Elias, Tori, Max, Aurora, and Ryan; great great grandson, Merrick; and sisters-in-law, Elmira Fontenot and Jeraldine Guillory.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Jourdain Guillory and Omerine Fontenot Guillory; great grandchildren, Marik Tucker and Audriey Moore; and siblings, Tavie, Violet, Archie, Calvin, Agnes, Rose, Joycie, Alvin, Clayton, Della, Nora Lee, and Nelson.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2026, at First United Pentecostal Church, 230 Smith Steet, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Pastor Carlton Jackson Jr. and Rev. Trace Buxton will be officiating. Interment to follow at Big Woods Cemetery, Vinton, Louisiana.
